Join our pirate crew as we celebrate 50 years of Innocent Merriment!
The Gilbert and Sullivan Company of El Paso will host auditions its 50th annual community production, Pirates of Penzance or The Slave of Duty, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday, May 5-6 at UTEP Fox Fine Arts M340 (Choir Room). All roles are open for casting including principals, demi-leads and chorus. People may sing a capella (unaccompanied), with a CD, mp3, or pre-recorded song or an accompanist will be provided (bring a copy of the music for the accompanist). Performances will be in late July and early August in El Paso and Las Cruces. Rehearsals are 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays. This is a great opportunity for local singers and actors. If you are creative, can sew or can help with props or building set, we would also like to hear from you. Students that participate in the production are eligible to apply for the Joan P. Quarm Scholarship Fund annual competition.
